Gerald T. Rohrer, Jr., recently joined the Illinois State Bar Association’s Tort Law Section Council at the invitation of ISBA president-elect Terrence Lavin. Influential lawyers and judges from throughout the state comprise the council, which is the governing body of the ISBA Tort Law Section. This appointment places Mr. Rohrer in the unique position of helping fulfill the Tort Law Section’s mission of enhancing the knowledge and professional capabilities of practitioners, disseminating and explaining the ramifications of proposed legislation and case law, and promoting the improvement of the tort system.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Rohrer said, “At SRZ we are continuously engaged in efforts to plan for and influence the landscape of the law on behalf of our clients. I am excited to receive this appointment, which places me at the forefront of the important debates in the area of tort law.”
“I am hopeful,” continued Rohrer, “that my work with the council will give a voice to the needs and concerns of the defense bar in discussions dedicated to the ever-changing area of tort law.”
